Men make history, and not the other way around. In periods where there is no leadership, society stands still. Progress occurs when courageous, skilful leaders seize the pportunity to change things for the better.”

July – A Record breaking Month:

The winter months are not usually record breaking months in the property industry, but July 2009 was Private Property’s busiest month ever. The website had more than 300 000 unique browsers and more than 600 000 user session. That is a growth rate of 80% year on year while our main competitor is down 5% year on year. Have a look at the unique browsers over the last three months:

Even more exciting is the growth in the traffic to our mobile site which has equalled almost 100% growth per month over the last three months:

We have updated our communication to our registered buyers, included in the daily SMS the buyer now get a link to the mobile site that includes all the information included on the email and on the classic website. This means once a buyer have registered over the phone or on our website, the only things they will ever need again to find their dream home is their cell phone… we believe this is the way of the future, so look out for some more exciting mobile features to follow:

Duplicate Listings:

We strongly believe that one of the reasons our traffic is growing so amazingly is the quality of the content on our website. The website now has more than 2000 Virtual Tours and 200 Video’s active. We don’t allow sales listings without pictures and quality check ever listing before it goes live. A big policy decision we have taken is that we will not allow duplicate listings, as we believe that this is in the browsers best interest. Unfortunately some duplication is currently happening so we are busy upgrading our systems and putting additional measures in place to prevent this from happening.

However it is important to note that the first listing on the system with the full and correct information is the one that will stay on the system. It is therefore important that all listings contain the full address even if it is not displayed on the website.

Good luck for August, I am sure there will be another huge month or two as summer approaches.
