I entered into a 6 month rental lease at the beginning of August and I need to provide the landlord with 2 months notice if I want to leave or renew my contract. My situation is this: My partner and I have found a property that we are in the process of buying. We are in the process of signing the offer to purchase and applying for a bond with the banks. If everything goes well and we get the property, I would like to move in with him and not after him. My questions are:

1. Realistically, how long will it take for all transfers etc to go through before we can take occupation?

2. Is there any way that I can get out of my 6 month lease earlier so that we can move in together?

3. If I cant get out of it earlier, can I move in with him anyway and continue to pay my rent until my contract is up without actually living there?


Your advice is much appreciated.
